Nature's Fantasy
I was inspired by the 1990 Studio Ghibli Princess Mononoke movie, more specifically the Cedar forest, the animals and the spirits that appeared in the movie. Along with images from the movie I also used images of real a Cedar Forest from the island of Yakushima. The Cedar trees both in animation and reality, brought great mystery and wonder just from looking.
These are the original illustrations of the outfits that I designed and constructed. See below for final designs with updated patterns. The Eye poncho and the Faux fur jacket were inspired by animals from the movie.
When designing I could not find a fabric pattern that went with my image, SO I made one. I used Adobe Capture to create several patterns before I picked my final choice. In addition, I used the same pattern for the second dress long-pencil skirt so that people would know that outfits were "partners".
